Disturbance produces more rain and snow showers

A disturbance diving south of New Jersey this morning will produce scattered rain and snow showers this morning throughout the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas. While a dusting of snow will be possible on cold surfaces, temperatures will rise above freezing through the morning hours, leading to little if any accumulation of snow on the roadways or any other surface for that matter. The disturbance will exit by noon with clearing skies in the afternoon and evening. Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures will remain well below normal with highs in the mid to upper 30′s over the interior and lower to mid 40′s along the coast.

High pressure will take hold tonight on through Sunday with scattered cloud cover and tranquil weather conditions. Winds will be from the northwest and west at 5 to 10 mph through the period. Temperatures will continue to remain below normal. Lows temperatures will range from the mid 20′s to lower 30′s. High temperatures will range from the mid to upper 40′s over the interior and upper 40′s to lower 50′s along the coast.

A coastal storm will develop on Monday producing the threat for rain and snow over the region. The exact track of this storm is uncertain, however there will be a significant threat for strong east and northeasterly winds and coastal flooding regardless of the exact track. The storm will develop late Sunday night into Monday morning and pass through the New Jersey and New York coastal waters through Monday evening. Periods of rain are likely along the coast with a better potential for snowfall over the higher elevations. Low temperatures will range from the upper 20′s to lower 30′s over the interior and mid 30′s along the coast. High temperatures will range from the mid to upper 40′s over the interior and upper 40′s to lower 50′s along the coast.

High pressure will take hold by Tuesday and Wednesday. Windy conditions can be expected with scattered to variable cloud cover. Temperatures will remain below normal through the middle and end of next week. Low temperatures will range from the mid to upper 20′s over the interior and lower to mid 30′s along the coast. High temperatures will range from the mid to upper 40′s over the interior and upper 40′s to lower 50′s along the coast.
