There are several reasons why the district attorney made this decision. Kanye and the teenager settled out of court. The alleged victim wasn’t hurt. The alleged victim wouldn’t cooperate or speak with prosecutors after Kanye agreed to give him money. The DA concluded, "Prosecution is accordingly declined due to Victim unavailability."
On Jan. 13, 2014, the young teenager tried to help Kim Kardasian escape the paparazzi so she could enter the medical building. Apparently, the young man used the N-word as he assisted her. When she asked him not to say that word, he turned his profanity and N-word usage at her.
After they were inside the building, Kim called her fiancé, Kanye, who immediately entered the building. He found the young man sitting in a chiropractor’s waiting room. Without saying a word, Kanye headed for the teenager and started punching him in the face. The receptionist hollered for Kanye to stop, but he didn’t pay any attention to her. Kim apparently stood by, silently watching her future husband as he beat on the 18-year-old. A massage therapist came out and had to pull Kanye off the kid. Kanye was told to leave. As he and Kim were leaving, Kim started hollering that they have it all on tape.
After the teenager’s lawyer contacted Kanye’s people, they agreed to settle out of court. Kanye paid the young man $250,000.
