Using natural health and beauty items is an excellent way to prevent harmful chemicals from entering your body via store-bought and mass-produced items. Many of the masks, scrubs and other mixtures you need will have to be mixed at home. The vast majority of these don’t need to be refrigerated, and since you make them yourself you can choose what you want to mix them in. As such, these items can be a very nice addition to your bathroom décor if you plan ahead to come up with neat ways to display them.
Baby food jars
Many of the items you will use for a natural health and beauty routine can be safely stored in sanitized baby food jars. You can use the smaller baby food jars to hold items like Vitamin E capsules or small mixtures of lip balm. The larger baby food jars are great choices for body scrubs and body butters. You can jars in a variety of sizes to house coarse salt or powders like baking soda.
You can decorate the baby food jars to get them ready for your bathroom. Paint the lids of the baby food jars with a color that complements your bathroom. Use a hot glue gun to glue fabric to the outside of the baby food jar if you want to hide the contents of the jar. If the jar houses colorful items, you can just leave the glass alone. Using craft paint to label the jars is another idea.
Toothbrush holder
If you are using a natural beauty routine, you need at least two toothbrushes. One toothbrush is for brushing your teeth and one is for brushing your lips to remove dry skin. You can also use a toothbrush holder to keep eyebrow brushes and razors neatly organized.
The toothbrush holder can be a simple one that you decorate yourself. Glue on some small seashells if you have beach-themed bathroom, or draw flowers on it with craft paint to complement a floral bathroom.
Small vases
Small vases can be a great option to store items like cotton balls, cotton swabs and other larger items. Make sure that the vase can easily accommodate your hand. You don’t want to use vases that are too large, as very large vases will seem overbearing in a smaller bathroom.
You can add a pop of color to the bathroom counter by using colored marbles to line the bottom of the small vase. This is especially useful if you are placing cotton balls in the vase, as the marbles will prevent the cotton balls from falling to the bottom. When the cotton balls aren’t all the way in the vase, it is a lot easier to grab them when needed.
Baskets or buckets
Square baskets or buckets are wonderful places to store small bottles of essential oils, rolled up face towels, and other items that don’t fit into the other storage options. If you buy baskets and buckets that are almost flat and not too wide, you can store them in a bathroom drawer to save counter space.
Decorating baskets and buckets is very simple. You can use a ribbon or piece of fabric that matches the shower curtain or window curtain to decorate the basket. Tie a piece of ribbon into a large bow and attach it to the front of the basket. You can also add a fabric insert to give the basket or bucket a finished look.
