Dispense with Mike Pence, he's not electable

Evaluate prospective presidential candidate Mike Pence as it has begun in earnest. Republicans are promoting and testing candidates and their credentials. Knowing that polls show that Jeb Bush would have trouble defeating Hillary Clinton, the GOP is still shopping. They could consider Meg Whitman, but they have not. They could recruit from a vast reservoir of qualified Republican women but they have not because:

  • There are not a vast number of qualified GOP women?
  • The male dominated party doesn’t know them”
  • They believe that they can find a strong white male that represents their demographics and still win?

What is there to like about Governor Mike Pence?

  • He is a governor of a significant sized state that might be representative of middle class America.
  • He was a former member of the US House of Representatives.
  • He is a lawyer.

What is there not to like about Governor Mike Pence?

  • He is a professional politician.
  • His resume is lightweight with no private sector executive experience or accomplishments.
  • There is no indication of anything stellar about the person.

He wants drivers to slow down in construction zones and give workers a break (or brake)?

Mike Pence is a vanilla Republican who is unlikely to garner mass appeal in a general election. He is not electable.
