I have to admit that one of my favorite things about visiting the Walt Disney World Resort and Theme Parks is being able to enjoy the amazing cuisine offered at the many different themed restaurants. It doesn’t matter if you are visiting Disney for the first time or the 100th time. The chefs at Disney will always amaze your taste buds with a variety of dining options, serving something for everyone!!
Since there is something for everyone at both the parks and theme parks, it is hard to just select one dining location. This article features some of my favorite locations. Keep in mind, my tastes may be different than yours, so you may not be as excited about my recommendations as I am.
Located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is Chef Mickey’s. This restaurant landed the number one spot on my list because my son loves it. We have to spend every birthday at this restaurant. The buffet offers something for everyone in the family and no one leave hungry. In addition to the food, the character interaction is one of the best we have experienced in the years of visiting Disney. Chef Mickey’s is an all-you-care-to-eat buffet and has received some of the highest recommendations from other review and travel companies.
Not only will you love the atmosphere and the chance to check out the savannah’s at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, you will be treated to one of the best meals at the Walt Disney World Resorts at Boma. The all-you-care-to-eat buffet serves up common dishes with African flare mixed in with traditional African cuisine. This one is definitely one of our favorites!!
50s Prime Time Café
My first restaurant inside a park recommendation is 50s Prime Time Café. This restaurant is located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and features amazing themeing. However, if you do not like you veggies, I do not recommend you dine here because you may be put in the corner. This restaurant features down home cooking including pot pies and meat loaf, which will take you back to the 50s!
Please note: The servers here are very cheeky and if you do not have a sense of humor, I do not recommend you dine here.
Located at Disney’s Polynesian Resort, ‘Ohana is the place to go for a unique dining option. If you plan it properly, you will be able to enjoy the fireworks at Magic Kingdom while enjoying dinner. You meal is prepared Polynesian-style, cooked over a fire pit. ‘Ohana features a “show” kitchen, which means you can see the kitchen and the chefs preparing your meal. Don’t forget dessert!! The Pineapple Coconut Bread Pudding with Bananas Foster Sauce is delicious!
Do not want dinner at ‘Ohana’s…Start off the morning right with Mickey Mouse, Lilo and Stitch at the resort’s character breakfast.
Liberty Tree Tavern
Located in the heart of Magic Kingdom, Liberty Tree Tavern is a great place to enjoy a meal. Here you can enjoy a meal that will take you back in time when the country was just starting out. Here you have a choice of an a la carte meal during lunch and a family-style (all-you-care-to-eat) meal at dinner. Though the lunch is always good at Liberty Tree Tavern, I recommend enjoying dinner (if you have to choose just one meal there).
