On July 8, Walt Disney World released a partial list of celebrity narrators for the Epcot Candlelight Processional, part of the theme park’s Holidays Around the World, and opened booking for the Candlelight Processional Dining Packages. Booking for these dining opportunities, which offers guaranteed seating at one of that day’s performances, begins today.
The Candlelight Processional is a re-telling of the Christmas story. Each performance – there are generally three each night – features a celebrity narrator who is accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra and a mass choir.
Walt Disney World released a partial list of these narrators, which reveals a mix of both Candlelight favorites and new voices. Jodi Benson, Whoopi Goldberg and Marlee Matlin will return this year, while Sharon Stone and Ana Gasteyer will make their debuts. Update: Familiar faces as Neil Patrick Harris or Edward James Olmos will return, and the Candlelight Processional celebrity schedule is now complete although, as always, remains subject to change without notice.
While the Candlelight Processional if free with Epcot theme-park admission, it is a very popular event and lines for the performances can form far in advance. The Candlelight Processional Dining Packages provide guests with a means to combine dinner with the show, while guaranteeing a seat at one of the performances. Note that park admission is not included with the price of the Candlelight Dining Packages.
The Epcot Candlelight Processional takes place at the American Gardens Theatre, part of the American Adventure pavilion at World Showcase. Performances take place at 5 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. each night, with the exception of Dec. 7; there are two show times on that date: 6:45 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.
The Candlelight Dining Packages are available on select days, for lunch and dinner. The dining packages feature a meal at one of the participating Epcot restaurants, a guaranteed seat at one of the Candlelight Processional performance as determined by the time for which the meal is scheduled.
Participating restaurants in this year’s Candlelight Processional Dining Packages: Biergarten Restaurant, Chefs de France, Coral Reef, Garden Grill, La Hacienda de San Angel, Nine Dragons, Restaurant Marrakesh, Rose & Crown. San Angel Inn, Teppan Edo, Tokyo Dining, Tutto Italia Ristorante and Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria.
Prices for the Candlelight Dining Packages start at $35 for lunch and $50 for dinner for adults, with package prices varying by time and restaurant. These dining packages are very popular, and availability is limited. Guests may call 407-WDW-Dine or book through the Walt Disney World website.
