This port adventure lasts approximately four and a half hours. You will be met by a bus when you leave the ship, for the 30 minute drive along the coast to George Inlet Lodge. Along the way, your driver will treat you to a narrative of the history of the area, and show you a number of interesting things. You may even see a bear or two along the way.

Once guests arrive at the lodge, they are taken to the boat that will take them to the crab pots. The boat provides binoculars for wildlife viewing along the way. Your host will keep a good narrative going along the route, pointing out areas of interest such as an eagles nest high up in a tree, a bear, moose, or eagle and entertain you with the stories of fish piracy at the George Inlet Cannery, which you will pass by on your way to the crab estuary.

You will view some of the most beautiful country in the world, serene, peaceful, full of history and wildlife. Once you reach the crab pots, your host will ask for some volunteers to pull up the crab pots. This is not as easy a task as it sounds, it takes some solid strength to bring up the pots. Once the pot is brought aboard, guests will have the opportunity to see the crabs and even hold them. The host will explain how they tell the difference between the males and females and you'll discover why the females are always thrown back, and only the males are kept. These crabs will be released back into the water, and after checking a few more pots, the boat will make it's way back to the lodge.

When you enter the restaurant of the lodge you will be greeted by a friendly and entertaining staff. You will be served up a feast of all you can eat Dungeness Crab legs, salad, potatoes, and blueberry cheesecake. During the feast hilarity ensues, as each table of guests competes to see who can build the highest pile of crab shells, and anything goes! Use your skills and ingenuity to make your stack the highest in the room!

Once the meal is over you'll have the opportunity to look around the lodge and visit with the hosts, you don't want to pass this up as they are some of the most interesting people you'll ever meet. You might also want to take a few extra bucks with you so you can purchase your "I Caught Crabs at George Inlet Lodge" t-shirt or cap at the small gift shop located beside the restaurant.

This Port Adventure is one you'll remember for years to come, so make sure your camera batteries are fully charged and you show up hungry, as this is one delicious feast! You can book this port adventure in the planning section of the Disney Cruise Line website, once you've booked your cruise, so put it on the top of the list.
