Disney to open new Hawaiian destination

Disney has announced a new 21 acre Hawaiian vacation destination as a part of their successful Disney Destinations program. Aulani, which translates to “the place that speaks with deep messages,” is the name of the new resort area that will feature 360 ocean-side hotel rooms alongside 481 two-bedroom Vacation Club villas. The resort will be located on the western side of O'ahu with nearby access to historical sites popular with tourists.

In keeping with Disney's family appeal, the resort will feature a snorkeling lagoon, play programs for children, and a volcanic themed water play area.  Other features include include an 18,000-square-foot family spa, two restaurants, a conference center, and local access to the Ko Olina Marina.

The resort is expected to open in Fall 2011.
