On Feb. 25, The Walt Disney Company Japan announced it will hold its first-ever D23 Expo Japan. The event marks the first time D23: The Official Disney Fan Club will take its signature event outside the U.S.
Senior Disney creative executives host D23 Expo Japan, which looks at the past, present and future of The Walt Disney Company. As with the domestic version, the expo will offer attendees presentations, exhibits, merchandise and activities related to all things Disney, including theme parks, movies, television, music, and interactive gaming
D23 Expo Japan will take place Oct. 12 – 14 at the Tokyo Disney Resort. It will be held at the resort’s hotels Disney Ambassador and MiraCosta, the official Tokyo Disney Resort hotel Maihama, and the IKSPIARI Tokyo Amphitheatre.
D23 will offer two special exhibitions as part of its first international expo. To pay tribute the 90th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company, D23 and the Walt Disney Archives will present “Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives,” displaying artifacts from the Archives’ collection that represent the company’s nine decades. Tokyo Disney Resort will be celebrated with a special retrospective exhibit presented by Oriental Land, the resort's operator.

The D23 Expo Japan allows us to show Disney’s tremendous appreciation to its fans.”
The expo is supported by JCB Co., Ltd, and The Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company, Limited as official sponsors.
More information on D23 Expo Japan, including ticket and program information, will be released in March.
D23 Expo Japan will take place just two months after the 2013 D23 Expo, which will be held in Anaheim, Calif. near Disneyland Resort. D23 Expo will take place Aug. 9 – 11 at the Anaheim Convention Center. That event will include presentations, the 2013 Disney Legends Ceremony, a special exhibit from the Walt Disney Archives, the Collectors Forum, an all-new Fan Art Contest themed to the 50th anniversary of "Mary Poppins," and a large show floor.
The domestic D23 Expo was first held in 2009, and takes place every other year.
