Disney Tangled Rapunzel toys, costumes, props, dress-up accessories, and riding toys

New Disney Tangled toys and accessories are rushing into local Chicago stores in preparation for the release of Disney's latest animated movie, Tangled, on November 24, 2010. A retelling of the classic Brothers Grimm fairytale Rapunzel with many plot twists that flesh out the characters of both the newest Disney Princess and her suitor, the bandit Flynn Rider, this movie has already inspired a flood of playthings to the market, including playsets, plush toys, dress-up costumes and accessories, props related to key plot points, and even riding toys like purple Huffy bicycles and scooters.

Along with dolls of various sizes and with differing play capabilities (read more about Disney Tangled Rapunzel dolls, fashion dolls, and accessories), children can play with the Disney Tangled Styling Head from Mattel, a plastic bust that comes with an array of hair clips, a tiara, four clip-on fancy hair extensions, a booklet, and a brush.

Kids can also purchase sets for their Rapunzel dolls, such as the Rapunzel Fairytale Tower from Mattel, which is sized to fit the 13-inch Sparkle Princess Fashion Dolls. This tower opens up to reveal several rooms for imaginative play — a kitchen with a dining room, a giant fireplace and main room, an art studio where Rapunzel can paint her murals (the walls are designed so that girls can paint them as well by applying water), and a bedroom and vanity room with a secret trap door compartment where Rapunzel can hide her crown and space under the bed for Pascal the chameleon. Along with small furniture and props, this playset also comes with long hair extensions that can be used to act out scenes from the movie.

For the smaller Rapunzel dolls, girls can buy the Rapunzel Tower Treasures Doll and Furniture set (which comes with accessories such as a doll, bedroom furniture, an easel and palette with canvases of art, and a Pascal the chameleon figure) and the Doll and Dress Shop, which comes with a dress shop set that opens for more play, furniture like a lovely fold-out standing mirror, a doll, and fashions for the doll to wear.

Along with a 21-inch Rapunzel plush toy, young children can also collect three different versions of Rapunzel's animal companion, Pascal the Chameleon Mini Bean Bag Plush toy, in green, red, and blue. These cute and toddler-friendly stuffed soft toys are available in Disney Stores now, along with a plush toy Maximus the Horse (Flynn Rider's loyal steed).

Many Disney Princess fans may want to dress up as Rapunzel for Halloween 2010. Luckily, several Rapunzel costumes, wigs, and dress-up accessories will be available. At the Disney Store, shoppers can purchase a gorgeous authentic Disney Rapunzel costume with an organza skirt, lace-up ribbon bodice, and character portrait cameo. Girls can add the finishing touches to this outfit with matching Disney Store accessories such as a Light-Up Wand, Light-Up Shoes, and lovely Tangled Rapunzel Hair Piece,

Stores such as Toys R Us and Target will be selling other, less expensive purple Rapunzel dresses from brands like Jakks Pacific and Creative Designs (and a storage trunk set full of dress-up items), as well as dress-up accessories such as the blonde, two-foot long Shimmer and Shine Wig (which comes with a light-up magic flower clip), a pair of purple Fairy Tale Slippers, and a Hanging Bag set (matching purple satin round purse and headband, each featuring Rapunzel's magic flower).

Young Disney Princesses on the go may also enjoy themed riding toys such as the 16-inch purple Huffy Rapunzel bicycle for girls ages 3 and up, the Rapunzel Huffy Rapunzel Scooter (for kids ages 3 to 6), and the Rapunzel Toddler Helmet and Bell (suitable for kids ages 2 to 4, and designed with a hole in the back through which a ponytail can stick).
