Disney actor Lee Thompson Young, 29, was found dead today in his Los Angeles, California, because of taking his own life. His manager, Jonathan Baruch, confirmed media reports of Young’s passing, "It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning, Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed."
Lee was best known for his leading role as ‘Jett Jackson’ on the Disney series ‘The Famous Jett Jackson’ during 1998 to 2001. During his career, Young went on to star is such hits as, Johnny Tsunami, Smallville, and Scrubs.
Lee Thompson Young was born February 1, 1984 and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, his parents Velma and Tommy Young divorced during his elementary school years, and Lee lived with his mother Velma.
Young spent his early years in Community Theater in Greenville, South Carolina. When Lee turned 17 years old, he decided to become an actor, and while on spring break in 1996, he found an agent in New York.

Lee will be cherished and remembered by all who knew and loved him, both on- and off-screen, for his positive energy, infectious smile and soulful grace. “Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed. We ask that you please respect the privacy of his family and friends as this very difficult time.” – continued Young’s manager, Jonathan Baruch.
Police are not able to comment on the situation at this time.
