Disney' s Peter Pan Diamond Edition release screening

Disney is known for their infamous vault of films. For those that have been living in a vault and do not know what it is, it’s where they store all their movies and periodically re-release them in various formats. This brilliant tradition has made Disney films not only maintain their classic feel and nature, but also keeps from watering down the market. Known as their Diamond Edition’s, these Blu-ray releases sport high definition with restored picture and sound, as well as numerous special features.

While these normally just get standard releases, they decided to do something a bit different with the 60th anniversary of Peter Pan. While this special edition doesn’t hit Blu-ray until February 5th, they decided to have a special theatrical screening to celebrate its rerelease. As if the screening of this classic animated adventure wasn’t enough, they were doing a special giveaway to win copies of the film with the simple rules of showing up wearing your pajamas. There is something about a theater of adults and kids in their pajamas getting anxious in their seats to see a movie that has been around for 60 years while dressed in their pj’s that creates a unique aura to the room. You could hear the excitement in the small kids and see the joy on their faces throughout the seats. While we may never know if it was just the film or the added bonus that they didn’t have to get dressed to leave the house, but rest assured a great time was had by all.

This classic film played to the crowd lighting up old and new fans alike just like it did all those years ago, complete with great sound a beautiful and vibrant visual experience. After seeing how great it looked up on that big screen one can only imagine the beauty that the hi-def Blu-ray will offer. Add to that a sure to be great collection of special features and this is another Disney classic that you will not want to miss.

Be sure to get out and pick up your copy of the 60th anniversary Diamond Edition of Peter Pan when it hits Blu-Ray/DVD Combo Pack on February 5th.
