Disney's Mary Poppins coming to West Palm Beach (Video)

Mary Poppins the musical is coming to West Palm Beach Jan. 29 - Feb. 3 at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. The beloved tale of the magical nanny will come to life with song and dance. The talented cast is taking their Broadway hit on the road and touring the country.

The Mary Poppins musical is based on the 1964 Disney film and a series of children's books written by P.L. Travers. The US version of the show opened on Broadway in November 2006. The final performance in New York City will be Sunday, March 3 at the New Amsterdam Theater. The show will most likely be replaced by the new musical "Aladdin".

The antics of Jane and Michael Banks are remedied by a spoonful of sugar and so much more as we witness the magical nanny Mary Poppins in action. In addition to the favorite songs from the movie the musical version has added scenes adapted from the books and additional song and dance numbers. If you are in the West Palm Beach area grab some tickets and head to Cherry Tree Lane for a show to remember.

The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts will have a pre-performance discussion by Jason Gillman and Jacqueline Bayne at 6:45 pm and a free musical presentation by Seminole Ridge High School in the Dreyfoos Hall lobby at 7:15 pm on Jan. 29.
