The force was with Disney World with the official opening of ‘Star Tours - The Adventures Continue’ at the Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Friday. The grand opening ceremonies of the beloved attraction had the ‘Star Wars’ creator George Lucas along with CEO Bob Iger ready to unleash the power of Star Tours to the masses who gathered for the first ride of the day
The Disney World resort is the first of the two Disney theme parks to open the ‘Star Tours’ ride to the public. Disneyland has only had private showings to cast members as well as a public lottery for an exclusive sneak peek on how the ride has changed. While Disney World is now open, Disneyland will allow the public a first view in June.
Leaving the Disney fans excited to see exactly what is new on the attracting, those in Lake Buena Vista braved long lines to check out the remodeled attraction and see a whole new dimension. While R2-D2 and Darth Vader may have left after the grand opening, the attraction is now open at the Disney World Resort for guests to enjoy at their own leisure. And according to Disney lovers the ride is definitely worth the wait in line.
