On March 30, The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Disney's Oscar-winning animated blockbuster, "Frozen," has earned a total of $1.072 billion in box offices worldwide, not only surpassing the total gross for Disney/Pixar’s "Toy Story 3," but also stealing its' spot as the highest grossing animated film of all time.
The Disney retelling of Hans Christian Andersen's classic fairy tale, "The Snow Queen," has grossed a total of $398.4 million in the states and has seen big success overseas with a total gross of $674 million. "Frozen" also holds the No. 10 spot on the list of the biggest grossing movies of all time. Sitting right above it is the third chapter in the most recent "Batman" movie series, "The Dark Night Rises," which has grossed over $1.084 billion worldwide.
"Frozen" took home two Oscars at this year's Academy Awards for "Best Original Song" with "Let It Go" and "Best Animated Feature Film."
