D23: The Official Disney Fan Club has released information on discounts and special offers available to its members in 2013. These D23 discounts include Disney-related travel, activities and experiences.
What follows are some of the discounts and special offers D23 makes available to its members, especially with regards to Disney travel or that may be useful for guests attending D23’s 2013 events.
Adventures by Disney (ABD) offers $300 off its Backstage Magic trip to D23 members who book before March 30, 2013. ABD’s Backstage Magic takes guests on a family group guided tour to The Walt Disney Studios, Walt Disney Imagineering, The Jim Henson Company, and backstage areas of Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.
Disneyland Resort area discounts and special offers include the following:
- Special rates at Howard Johnson Anaheim, Carousel Inn & Suites, and the Anabella Hotel. These hotels are located near the Disney theme parks and the Anaheim Convention Center; the latter is the site of the upcoming D23 Expo: The Ultimate Fan Event to be held Aug. 9 – 11, 2013.
- Dining discounts at House of Blues Anaheim, Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen, ESPN Zone, The Pizza Press, and Tangerine Grill.
Walt Disney World Resort offers these discounts:
- 10% savings on activities at Sammy Duvall’s Watersports Centre and on merchandise at CURL by Sammy Duvall.
- 10% off a Ride-Along or any driving experience, including the Richard Petty Driving Experience, at the Walt Disney World Speedway.
- 15% off rentals through Magic Strollers.
D23 discounts are available at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort for these experiences:
- 10% off all treatments at Mandara Spa locations at Disneyland Resort, located inside Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, and Walt Disney World Resort, located inside the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel. D23 members can also enjoy savings at Mandara Spa’s other well locations around the country.
- Savings on purchases made at Ghirardelli Chocolate Company at its two Disney Park shops, Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World (savings also available online).
- 10% off purchases at all RIDEMAKERZ and Apricot Lane locations.
D23 offers members-only tickets and discounts for the following Disney experiences:
- D23 Member-only ticket prices for the Broadway shows “Mary Poppins” and “Newsies.”
- Member-exclusive discount on tickets to the “D23 Presents Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives" exhibit at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Library in Simi Valley, Calif.
- Savings on tickets to see “Mulan” at the historic El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, Calif.
- Disney offers at the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco and the Walt Disney Hometown Museum in Marceline, Mo.
D23 members may take advantage of discounts related to general travel, including:
- 10% off bookings with SuperShuttle, which provides travel between airports and various destinations (home, office, hotels) and is available at various locations across the country. (Note: I have used SuperShuttle to travel from the John Wayne Airport in Orange County, Calif. to a Disneyland Resort area hotel – including for the 2011 D23 Expo; the experience us convenient, quick and affordable.)
- Savings on experiences around the country, such as Madame Tussauds Hollywood, Future of Flight Aviation Center in Seattle, and Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, Calif.
D23 also has non-travel related discounts, including 15% off merchandise purchased at Disney Store locations or on DisneyStore.com through March 31, 2013.
To take advantage of these discounts and special offers, D23 members must present their membership card or use special online codes. Full details on all D23 member discounts and special offers, as well as a complete list of what is currently available, are available online.
D23: The Official Disney Fan Club is a membership program focused on celebrating all things Disney, marking the company’s history and present and future. Its name references 1923, the year Walt Disney founded the company.
