With production on Disney's sequel to "Alice in Wonderland" yet to begin, Disney is currently in early talks with Sacha Baron Cohen to play the role of lead villain Time, Bleeding Cool reported Tuesday.

Both Disney and director James Bobin, known recently for his work on "The Muppets" film, have been looking at both male and female actors to fill the part. With nothing set in stone just yet, and plot details still under wraps, "Through the Looking Glass" could have a drastically different actor landing the role of Time if talks with Cohen lead nowhere.

What has been confirmed, according to Bleeding Cool, is the return of Johnny Deep and Mia Wasikowska to reprise their roles as the Mad Hatter and Alice.

"Through the Looking Glass" has been set for a May 27, 2016 release.
