With the holiday season just around the corner, ABC has slated a new Halloween special for Wednesday, October 16. The feature will include the classic characters from the trilogy of "Toy Story" films, with a spooky new twist. The cast will reunite the voices of Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Wallace Shawn as Rex, and Tom Hanks as Woody, among others. Carl Weathers will voice Combat Carl, and new images released Monday indicate the character will have a larger role than in the past.
Hanks has lifelong ties to the San Francisco Bay Area, having grown up in Concord before studying theater at Chabot College in Hayward.
"Toy Story OF TERROR!" is Disney-Pixar's first special for television, and will focus on a missing toy, similar to previous "Toy Story" installments. While on a fun road trip, after a detour to a roadside motel, the characters find themselves wrapped up in mystery and intrigue to avoid also disappearing. "Toy Story OF TERROR!" will air from 8:00 to 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on October 16, the time slot usually reserved for the network's hit comedy, "The Middle."
