The Disney Parks Vine account will feature both original video content from the company as well user-generated content, the latter being encouraged by the “Vine Your Disney Side” contest. Disney fans who are Vine users – called Viners – can create six-second videos that show off their interest in the theme parks, characters, or other elements of the Disney Parks.
Selected videos, which need to include the tag #DisneySideContest, will appear on the Disney Parks Vine channel beginning Oct. 7, with the filmmakers receiving $1000. Those filmmakers also have the chance to win the Grand Prize, a Disney Parks vacation to either Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort and $10,000 "earmarked" to create a series of Disney Side videos.
We’re excited to announce our presence on Vine and believe this channel is a great fit considering the fun spirit of our parks and resorts, which serve as amazing locations for visual storytelling,” said Christie Volastro, vice president of Global Digital Marketing for Disney Destinations in a media statement. “We’re looking forward to using this channel to showcase original Vine content and recognize Disney fans by sharing some of the most creative Disney Parks inspired user-generated content out there.
“Vine Your Disney Side” also marks the kick-off for “Show Your Disney Side.” The promotional campaign encourages guests to publicly share their personal connections with the domestic Disney Parks using social media, including Facebook, Google+, Instagram, Twitter, and now Vine. Disney fans who use these platforms are encouraged to use the hashtag #DisneySide.
