Disney On Ice has been a staple performance venue for Disney's films and characters for decades -- but this may be the most fitting adaptation the franchise has seen yet, with Frozen hitting the ice rink starting this September.

Disney has announced that "Disney On Ice: Frozen" will begin touring the country this Fall, kicking off in September in Orlando, FL.

Feld Entertainment, which has produced Disney On Ice since 1981, says Frozen "will make kids and their parents feel like they are actually trekking up those mountains and experiencing the storm inside Elsa."

The show will feature 39 performers, all wearing detailed costumes, and performing on an intricate set on the ice rink, which will include a large size-sided snowflake, video projection panels, and 20 snow machines.

Unlike most Disney On Ice shows, which are generally comprised of vignettes from various Disney properties, Frozen will focus on the story from the film, and will only be bookended by appearances from Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Tickets for "Disney On Ice: Frozen" go on sale Tuesday. Check out a sneak preview in the attached video.
