Disney officially announced "Disney Infinity". "Disney Infinity" takes the popular formula made famous by "Skylanders Giants" and applies it to a host of its characters. For those not familiar with "Skylanders Giants" gamers use toys to bring various characters to life on the screen. This has proven immensely popular and Disney is looking to get in on the action.

"Disney Infinity" allows players to use a variety of Disney characters for unique experiences. Each character unlocks its own unique world. For instance, if players want to play in the Pirates of the Caribbean universe all they have to do is place their Jack Sparrow or Davy Jones character on the base. In turn the world of Pirates will open up allowing players to solve puzzles fight enemies and unlock secrets.

Disney Interactive and Avalanche Software, the minds behind "Disney Infinity", will initially release 40 characters with more to be certainly added after its initial release. There still is no release date for "Disney Infinity" but it will be available on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, Wii U and 3DS.
