Disney issues casting call for 'Star Wars 7' on Star Wars Day

According to Comic Book Movie on Sunday, it was recently announced that yet another "Star Wars 7" casting call was issued by Disney on Star Wars Day. On May 14, Walt Disney Studios is looking to enter principle photography where shooting locations take place in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. These are locations in the United Kingdom and they are looking for anyone over the age of 16 with "interesting looks".

The description for the kind of "look" that Disney is seeking is likely to be a people watcher's dream come true. They seek those with bad teeth to those with significantly pronounced facial appearances. Even old war wounds and dreadlocks are welcomed. Considering the mantra of the "Star Wars" universe, it has been said they are wanting to give a more natural look to the film similar to that of the classic George Lucas films.

That being said, perhaps finding those that don't need or require very little special effects make-up would be a benefit to the film mission of appearing realistic. Why use make-up or prosthetic when people look that way already. This may remind one of a joke where around Halloween a friend would tease someone and say, "So who are you going as for Halloween? Oh wait, you don't need a mask!"

Extras include even speaking roles as well as background roles. The casting call even mentioned interesting looks that of unsual character faces, Navy, or sailor-types. It seems they aren't all that picky as they are open to any kind of ethnicity or racial appearance over the age of 16. For young adults between 16 to 22 it's pretty much the same criteria. The time frame in which the need is required runs between May 16 to Sept. 14 of this year.

Also, today director J.J Abrams and screen writer Lawrence Kasdan wished everyone a "Happy Star Wars Day" to those celebrating. People were still hopeful some kind of ground breaking announcement would be made on this day, but one could speculate what that could be.

J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars 7" will star returning members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker. New cast members include , Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis, and Max von Sydow. The film is schedule to debut on Dec. 18, 2015.
