On Monday, March 24, 2014 Disney Interactive and Harmonix posted a new video on YouTube for their upcoming “Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved” game. Harmonix is best known for developing the “Guitar Hero” and “Rock Band” game series. “Fantasia” was first shown at the 2013 E3 Expo and was the only game at the event that demonstrated the Xbox One’s Kinect sensor. In conjunction with the video release, Disney Interactive also issued a press released revealing a little more about the motion-capture music game, though a release date has still not been announced.

The video marks the debut of new area, "The Hollow," where users can perform songs and explore a mysterious forest environment. Similar to the “Haven” area, “The Hollow” allows players to create their own melodies and bring the world to life by performing songs and interacting with the virtual world. Players can add light, color, and characters to the scene with their gestures. Melodies can be created by sprouting musical mushrooms or by guiding frolicking fairies through a woodland wonderland.

In addition to the announcement of "The Hollow," the accompanying press release reveals a few details about two-player gameplay and announces five new tracks that will be included in the game. Played cooperatively with another user, two-player mode allows users to collaborate with one another and engage with the classic hits. The newly announced tracks that will appear in the game are: David Bowie’s "Ziggy Stardust," Antonin Dvorak’s "Symphony No. 9 from the New World," Lorde’s “Royals,” Nicki Minaj’s "Super Bass," and the White Stripes’ "Seven Nation Army."

“Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved” is a musical motion video game inspired by Disney’s classic animated film “Fantasia,” and will be available exclusively for Microsoft’s Xbox One, sometime in 2014. The game promises over 30 music tracks, including contemporary hits, classic rock, classical music, and more.
