If you’ve noticed the figures in “Disney Infinity” have gotten better looking as the series has grown, don’t think your eyes are deceiving you.
In an exclusive interview with Examiner, “Disney Infinity” art director Jeff Bunker, the very man behind the creation of Disney’s collectable toys for the game, says it took some time for him to get the hang of the process.
An admitted video game creator first and a toy designer second, Bunker has shown a level of dedication to his new craft, making trips to the figures’ manufacturing site in China to oversee every aspect of their creation.
“I will be very honest with you,” Bunker said via telephone in China. “I have been making video games for almost 20 years. The key word here is video games. And so, for our first set of characters, I didn’t know what went into the making of the figures; there was definitely an education taking place. I’m still very proud of what we were able to do with our first wave of characters, but what I think you’re seeing now with the second wave is us implanting what we learned. I think you’re going to see the characters getting better and better.”
