Disney revealed the first details for "Disney Infinity" on Tuesday. The game will be released this June for multiple platforms including the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, Wii, Nintendo 3DS and iOS devices plus will use collectible toys similar to Activision's "Skylanders."
"Disney Infinity" makes use of the multiple franchises available to bring together characters from Disney and Pixar films such as "The Incredibles", "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Monsters Inc.", "Toy Story" and "Wreck-It Ralph." It will start with a line of 40 collectible interactive pieces plus 17 character figures that can be brought into the game world by placing them on a base similar to the "Skylanders" Portal. Disney Infinity Power Discs can also be placed on the base to give characters unique powers, customizations and gadgets.
The game, in development by Avalanche Software, put the characters into worlds that Disney Interactive calls the "Toy Box." The first worlds will be based on "The Incredibles", "Monsters University" and "Pirates of the Caribbean" but users will have the opportunity to create their own as well.
"Who would win a race between Lightning McQueen or Dash?" Disney Interactive co-president John Pleasants Pleasants asked. "Who would win a sword fight between Jack Sparrow and Phineas Flynn? This is the promise and magic of Disney Infinity. It's up to you to unlock the heart and soul of Disney Infinity."

"Disney Infinity" also appears to borrow elements from Sony's "LittleBigPlanet" series as well when it comes to world building. Players will be able to use a logic editor to create their own mini-games. Some of those shown off at the event include clones of "Donkey Kong", "Super Off-Road" and "Mario Kart."
Expect to pay a pretty penny to play in Disney's toy box though. The Disney Infinity starter pack will be $74.99 when it releases in June. Play sets start at $34.99, three-figure packs will go for $29.99, individual figures for $12.99 and power disc packs will be $4.99.
