The Festival of Fantasy parade debuts at Walt Disney World next month, and members of the media were given a sneak preview of some of the costumes and floats on February 10.
Festival of Fantasy wouldn't be a Disney parade without princesses, and the Princess Garden float will feature Cinderella, Tiana, and Belle, accompanied by their princes. They'll glide along the parade route in a garden of topiaries, with woodland critters and birds all around them. Watch Cinderella's dress, which will twirl like a turntable. Watch for Anna and Elsa from "Frozen," as they'll also make an appearance.
That dress, as well as the other costumes, were designed by Mirena Rada, who who has also used her creative talents at Disneyland, Tokyo Disney, and Hong Kong Disneyland. She brings a fresh flair to Festival of Fantasy that combines classic elements with surprising new twists.
Check out the slideshow accompanying this article to see the Swan Court costumes. Couples in the court will accompany the Princess Garden, performing ahead of the float.
This expansive float is more than 50 feet long. With its princesses, combined with all the other characters and floats in the parade, Festival of Fantasy will have a cast of more than 100 total performers representing characters from over a dozen classic stories.
