Disney Festival of Fantasy costume preview, part five: Antics by the Lost Boys

You'll find the Lost Boys with the Peter Pan float in the new Festival of Fantasy Parade at Walt Disney World, which debuts in March, and their costumes are just as detailed as the rest of the apparel in this new event. However, as the media got to see at a special preview on February 10, their antics are just as much fun as their eclectic wear.

You can see the Mirena Rada-designed costumes in the slideshow accompanying this article, with critters like skunks, foxes, and bears all represented. The quirky costumes match the personalities of the performers, who have a lot of fun with their roles.

You'll get to see them in person when the parade kicks off in March in the Magic Kingdom. They'll join Peter Pan, who rides with Wendy on a giant Jolly Roger, complete with smokes effects and a swashbuckling appearance by Captain Hook. Look for Tinker Bell among the giant flowers.

If something seems familiar about the Lost Boys, you just might be noticing the "Newsies" influence. Their choreography is based on the popular play.

Indeed, if the whole nine-float spectacle reminds you of Broadway, that's exactly what it's intended to do. "It's visually stunning, like a mini Broadway show rolling down the street," says Senior Show Director Randy Wojcik.
