On Feb. 26, the 2014 Cruise Critic Cruisers’ Choice winners were announced and Disney Cruise Line came away a big winner. Disney Cruise Line (DCL) received 29 awards across the Large Ship, Midsize Ship and Destinations categories, with 13 of them first rankings.

Disney Fantasy, DCL’s newest ship, was particularly well represented in this year’s Cruise Critic Cruisers’ Choice awards. The ship received nine number-one Choice awards in the Large Ship category (2000+ passengers), including as Best Overall, Best for Families, Best Service, Best Dining and Entertainment, Best Cabins and Public Rooms. It is the second year in a row the Disney Fantasy has taken the Best Overall award.

DCL took home four other first-place awards, including Best Overall, Best Service and Best Entertainment, Midsize Category (1,200 - 1,999 passengers) for the Disney Wonder. The Disney Dream took home a first-place award for Best Bahamas Cruise.

"The Cruisers' Choice Awards are a fantastic honor for cruise lines to receive as they're based on personal experiences shared by cruisers themselves," Carolyn Spencer Brown, Cruise Critic editor in chief, said in a press statement. "This list of winners serves as a seal of approval from consumers who have sailed on these ships over the past year."

Rankings for the 2014 Cruise Critic Cruisers’ Choice awards are based on ratings given by the site’s members in published member reviews for cruises taken in 2013. Cruise Critic offers more 100,000 cruise reviews, covering approximately 400 cruise ships.

The Disney Parks Blog notes the 2014 Cruise Critic Cruisers’ Choice reflects the most awards DCL has received at a single time.

All four DCL ships have been regularly recognized within the cruise and travel industries, particularly for service and family travel.

For 2014, Disney ships took four out of the five top rankings in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice awards in the Best Large Cruise Ships category. The re-imagined Disney Magic received the Porthole Cruise Magazine’s 2014 Editor-in-Chief Award for Best Makeover. In U.S. News & World Report’s rankings for Best Cruises of 2014, Disney Cruise Line earned top spots for Best for Families and Best in the Caribbean, as well as recognition in other categories.
