On March 25, Disney Cruise Line announced its sailings for summer 2015. Featured among Disney’s itineraries is a new sailing to Norway, taking guests to the Norwegian fjords, as well as the opportunity to visit Iceland and the Faroe Islands.
Disney Cruise Line (DCL) will also return to the Baltic with all-new itineraries, offering trips from Copenhagen, Denmark to St. Petersburg, Russia. Cruises to the Mediterranean, Alaska, Caribbean and Bahamas are also part of DCL’s 2015 schedule.
Disney Cruise Line’s first Norway sailings set course for Norwegian fjords
DCL’s new Norway itineraries include both seven- and nine-night sailings aboard the Disney Magic, a classic ship. There is also an 11-night sailing on the Disney Magic, with will take guests Iceland and the Faroe Islands – another first for DCL.
DCL’s Norway sailings will showcase the natural beauty of the Norwegian fjords, with their mountain ranges, massive glaciers, steaming geysers. Guests will have the opportunity to experience Scandinavian culture through local attractions, architecture, city centers and villages, and optional port adventures.
The addition of Norway to DCL’s summer 2015 line-up offers a bit of Disney synergy. Norway served as inspiration and backdrop for Disney’s “Frozen,” becoming the fictional Arendelle in the animated movie.
DCL’s seven-night Norwegian Fjords sailing departs June 6. Leaving from Copenhagen, Denmark, the itinerary includes the ports of Stavanger, Alesund, Geiranger and Bergen in Norway. Rates start at $1,561 per person for a standard inside stateroom, based on double occupancy.
DCL’s nine-night Norwegian Fjords sailing departs June 20. Leaving from Copenhagen, Denmark, the itinerary includes the ports of and Stavanger, Alesund, Geiranger, Molde, Olden and Bergen in Norway. Rates start $2,133 per person for a standard inside stateroom, based on double occupancy.
DCL’s 11-night Norwegian Fjords and Iceland sailing departs June 29. Leaving from Copenhagen, Denmark, the itinerary visits Oslo, Kristiansand and Stavanger in Norway; Akureyri and Reykjavik (overnight) in Iceland; Torshavn of the Faroe Islands; and Dover, England. Rates start $2,453 per person for a standard inside stateroom, based on double occupancy.
Disney Cruise Line returns to Northern Europe: New itineraries for Baltic cruises
DCL’s northern European cruises, aboard the Disney Magic classic ship, will sail the Baltic with seven- and 12-night sailings.
On these itineraries, Disney guests will visit such cities as Helsinki, Finland; Stockholm, Sweden; Copenhagen, Denmark and St. Petersburg, Russia. These itineraries depart from Copenhagen, Denmark and Dover, England (near London).
DCL’s seven-night Northern European includes the ports of Copenhagen, Denmark; Tallinn, Estonia; St. Petersburg, Russia (the country’s “cultural capital”); Helsinki, Finland; and Stockholm, Sweden. The weeklong sailings depart on May 30 and June 13.
DCL’s longer, 12-night Northern European sailings include the ports of Dover, England; Copenhagen, Denmark; Warnemunde, Germany (July 10 cruise only); Stockholm, Sweden; Helsinki, Finland; St. Petersburg, Russia; and Tallinn, Estonia. Two dates are available: July 10 and 22.
Rates for DCL’s Northern European itineraries start at $1,463 per person for seven-night cruises and $2,844 per person for 12-night cruises. These prices reflect a standard inside stateroom, based on double occupancy.
Disney Magic sets sail (again) on the deep blue Mediterranean Sea
DCL’s popular Mediterranean sailings return in summer 2015, with the Disney Magic departing from Barcelona, Spain. These five- and seven-night trips showcase the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea while taking guests to popular European destinations.
DCL’s five-night Mediterranean sailing departs Aug. 10 and includes the ports of Barcelona, Spain; Nice (Villefranche), France; Florence (La Spezia) and Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy. Rates start at $1,255 per person for a standard inside stateroom, based on double occupancy.
DCL’s seven-night Mediterranean adds Naples to the itinerary for sailings that begin Aug. 15, 22 and 29. Port visits for these trips, then, are Barcelona, Spain; Naples, Rome (Civitavecchia) and Florence (La Spezia), Italy; and Nice (Villefranche), France. Rates start $1,302 per person for a standard inside stateroom, based on double occupancy.
Disney Wonder sails to see wonders of Alaska
DCL’s summer 2015 sees its other classic ship, the Disney Wonder, visiting Alaska. These seven-night cruises depart from Vancouver, Canada to see Tracy Arm, Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan, Alaska.
Naturally, DCL’s Alaskan cruises focus on seeing and experiencing the natural wonders, beauty, culture and history of Alaska. DCL, working with Alaskan tour operators, offers exclusive-to-Disney family-friendly Port Adventures to take advantage of its destinations.
DCL’s seven-night Alaska cruises depart from Vancouver, cruise the through Tracy Arm fjord, and visit the ports of Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan.
The Alaska cruises offer several departure dates through the summer: June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29; July 6, 13, 20, 27; Aug. 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31.
Rates for the seven-night Alaska cruises start at $1,155 per person, a price based on an standard inside stateroom on double occupancy.
Disney Cruise Line sails Caribbean and Bahamas, featuring Castaway Cay
In 2015, Disney Cruise Line will continue its popular variety of itineraries to the Caribbean and Bahamas, sailing from Port Canaveral and Miami, Florida. These cruises include a stop at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.
DCL offers three-, four-, five- and seven-night cruises with various ports and at various price points. From Port Canaveral, rates start at $495 per person for three-night cruises, $662 per person for four-night cruises, $1,465 per person for five-night cruises and $1,145 per person for seven-night cruises. From Miami, rates start at $400 per person for four-night cruises and $500 per person for five-night cruises.
