Disney Citibank to Hire 10,000 Youth

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti appeared at a press conference in South Central L.A. Tuesday alongside Disney Chief Executive Robert Iger and White House Senior Adviser Valerie Jarrett to announce plans to hire an estimated 10,000 youth ages 14 to 24 years by the close of 2014.

Among the companies which include, Citigroup and Citibank, Disney has pledged a $1 million commitment towards the effort of hiring youth this summer. These and other local companies have committed to enhancing lives through job skills, training, and personal development for youth beginning this summer. The intended goal is more than half the amount of youths that were employed last summer.
