Actress Dove Cameron was in the cold streets of New York City this morning chatting it up with weather anchor Ginger Zee. The girls were all bundled up and sipping on some hot chocolate on Jan. 15 outside the studios of "Good Morning America" as Cameron talked about her brand new Disney Channel original movie, “Cloud 9.”
The young blond star of the new hit Disney series “Liv and Maddie” has been quite busy lately with the show and her new movie. She explained that “Cloud 9” is an action and romance flick about competitive snowboarding. She plays the role of Kayla, who was recently dropped from her snowboarding team. She then teams up with a former snowboarding champ, Will (Luke Benward).. They both learn some valuable lessons along the way. Former Disney girl, Ashley Tisdale, is the movie’s producer. It looks like the "High School Musical" actress has found her way back to the network, only behind the camera.
Cameron said that this movie has an empowering message that nothing is impossible and to believe in yourself. Of course, Ginger Zee wanted to know if she did her own stunts in the movie. The actress told her that she had body doubles to do those amazing snowboarding stunts that will be shown on Friday.
It just so happens that it is also her 18th birthday today! Cameron said that she hopes to celebrate with some yummy birthday cake and hoping to get some sleep. Another big celebration for the young actress is the recent news that “Liv and Maddie” has been renewed for a second season on the Disney Channel. That is definitely cause for a double celebration!
Be sure to watch “Cloud 9” on Friday, Jan. 17 at 8 p.m. EST on the Disney Channel.
