Bad luck Charlie. On Wednesday, February 5 CNN reported that 5-year-old actress Mia Talerico, the star of the Disney Channel comedy series "Good Luck Charlie" has received death threats online. The Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating the threats, made through posts to Talerico's Instagram account which is a photo sharing application.
According to police, someone posted the comment "Die Mia. Kill yourself you deserve to die" and other harsh messages telling the actress to harm herself on images shared to the account last month. The same person sent an image of Talerico's face with a bloody fist covering it to the account as well. The Threat Management Unit is considering the case an open investigation. The Instagram account can be seen here.
Talerico portrays Charlotte "Charlie" Duncan on the series about a Denver family adjusting to life having five children. The sitcom follows the family during their everyday lives and each episode contains a family member leaving a video diary for Charlie for advice later in life when she grows up. These messages are made by her older sister Teddy (Bridgit Medler), brothers Gabe (Bradley Steven Perry), PJ (Jason Dolley), and Toby (Logan Moreau), and parents Amy (Leigh-Allyn Baker) and Bob (Eric Allan Kramer).
The actress has appeared on the series since she was ten months old, and was chosen after the casting department was unable to find a pair of twins that worked well enough with the part of Charlie. The show is expected to air its final episode on Sunday, February 16 after just over one hundred episodes.
