Disney announces summer 2015 cruise schedule, adds Norway itineraries

Disney Cruise Line announced details of its 2015 summer season, which will feature the line’s first cruises to Norway, Iceland, and the Faroe Islands, as well as a new itinerary in the Baltic. Disney will also return to the Mediterranean, Alaska, and Bahamas/Caribbean. According to a March 25, 2014 press release received by Examiner, Disney’s 2015 summer season will run from May 30 to Aug. 31, 2015 from Copenhagen, Barcelona, Vancouver, Miami, and Port Canaveral.

Disney Magic, which underwent a major refurbishment in 2013, will sail to the Norwegian Fjords, the Baltic, and the Mediterranean.

  • Three Norwegian Fjords cruises will be offered in June 2015, all of which will depart from Copenhagen, a new homeport for Disney. A seven-night cruise on June 6 will visit Stavanger, Alesund, Geiranger, and Bergen. A nine-night cruise departing June 20 will add Molde and Bergen. An 11-night cruise from Copenhagen to Dover on June 29 will add Oslo and Kristiansand in Norway, Akureyri and Reykjavik in Iceland, and Torshavn in the Faroe Islands.
  • Baltic cruises will run on four dates. Seven-night cruises will depart Copenhagen on May 30 and June 13 and will call on Tallinn, St. Petersburg, Helsinki, and Stockholm. Twelve-night cruise will depart Dover on July 10 and July 22 and will call on Warnemunde (July 10 cruise only), Stockholm, Helsinki, St. Petersburg, and Tallinn.
  • Disney Magic repositions to Barcelona in August 2015 for four Mediterranean cruises. A five-night cruise will depart Aug. 10, 2015 to Villefranche (for Nice), La Spezia (for Florence), and Civitavecchia (for Rome. Seven-night cruises on Aug. 15, 22, and 29 will add the port of Naples.

Disney Wonder will make seven-night cruises to Alaska every week from June 1 through Aug. 31, 2015. The ship will homeport in Vancouver and will visit Tracy Arm Fjord, Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchikan.

Disney will keep its other two ships in Miami and Port Canaveral for summer 2015, and will offer a variety of three-, four-, five-, and seven-night cruises to the Caribbean and Bahamas.
