Don't worry, Baby Jesus: DISH Network's got your back.
In the ongoing "War on Christmas," where political correctness continues to run amok, DISH Network joins a growing number of companies that embrace common sense. DISH recognizes the same thing 98% of Americans do: there's nothing wrong with saying "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Hanukkah." Acknowledging the religious aspects of the holiday doesn't create fanatics. Saying the phrase isn't a sermon; it's merely an acknowledgment that, for many, the holiday is more than an excuse to buy gifts. It has become a term of respect for those who believe in peace on earth and good will to men.
DISH Network realizes this, which is why they created a commercial (shown below) that hit airwaves this week featuring their own employees, all celebrating the holiday traditionally and saying "Merry Christmas." What a novel idea.
Some don't understand the significance or criticize the need for groups like the American Family Association to lobby for companies to recognize Christmas instead of a generic holiday greeting. They don't understand the difference between pandering to a consumer group for consumer profit, mocking the values of those who find the holiday sacred (like the Gap's Christmas ad), and showing the holiday some respect.
For many, the phrase "Merry Christmas" is not just a saying. It means so much more. Which is why the DISH Network commercial, and those like it that choose to stand for something more, are so important and should be recognized and applauded. In a time of moral relativity, DISH has taken a brave stand.
Writer's note: The American Family Association (AFA) has acknowledged DISH Network on their "Naughty or Nice" list of companies that will - or will not - acknowledge Christmas. No compensation or consideration was provided by DISH Network for this article.

What a refreshing surprise it was to see the Dish commercial wishing those of us who celebrate Christmas a Merry one! Thanks for having the guts to ignore all the ridiculous politically correct nonsense when it comes to a holiday celebrated by the majority of Americans! Bravo!
Dish Network has got it right! Go them! :) It is supposed to be Merry Christmas, not Happy Holiday.
Good for Dish Network!!!
Merry Christmas to all. Remember the true meaning of the holiday and continue to honor Him to came to save the world.
This is one more reason to support Dish Network.
