The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall of Lean Cuisine Culinary Collection Mushroom Mezzaluna Ravioli on Feb. 8. The Nestle Prepared Foods Company voluntarily recalled the frozen meals due to possible glass fragments that were discovered by consumers.
The UPC code 138000-58358 with production codes 2311587812 and 2312587812 can be found on the gray “proof of purchase” below the ingredients listed end flap on the box. The panel will also bear the best-before date of Dec. 2013.
In a phone interview with the customer service representative, a total of three consumers found glass in their meals. They also feel that there is very little left that remained in retail distributions; however, consumers may have some stored in freezers.
The food company was friendly and their transparency over this recall to the consumer public is apparent.
The Nestle Prepared Foods Company is urging consumers not to consume the affected food pertaining to this recall.
Consumers may call Nestle Consumer Services at 866-9424 with any concerns or questions affecting this food recall.
No injuries were reported as a result of this food recall to date.
