Discover "You! The Experience" at The Museum of Science and Industry for free in January

Monday through Friday during the entire month of January parents and children can get in from the cold at The Museum of Science and Industry, for free! This is an especially good time to venture down to 57th Street and Lakeshore Drive because, thanks to the the generosity of Abbott, the Abbott Fund and the Pritzker Foundation, the Museum is currently entertaining the exhibit, “You! The Experience.” This fabulously interactive exhibit celebrates and examines the experience of life itself. It’s a wonderfully inspired look at “You!”, and the reality that who you are depends on how you care for yourself and enjoy your life.

And to make your experience carry on beyond your visit, be sure to activate your “SciPass” while you are there. The “SciPass” allows you to access additional information, as well as some of the interactive parts of your museum experience, online after you leave the museum. Through a series of “SciPass” opportunities guests can save a range of materials linked to activities in 100 Things to Do, Food Tally, Talk to Me, and Self-Portrait. All you have to do is scan your admission ticket at connected stations in the exhibit. Later, you can access these images and information on the Museum’s Web site wherever you have computer access. As such, your experience can follow you home in more than just your memories.

With over 14 acres of exhibits plus a theatre and an Ominmax auditorium there is no shortage of opportunities for learning, fun, and enhancing “You!”.

The Museum of Science and Industry is located at 57th Street and Lakeshore Drive. Limited free parking is available off of Lake Shore Drive in the back lot, There is also fee based garage parking available in the building off of 57th Street. The Museum is open everyday except Christmas. Hours are: Monday through Saturday 9:30am to 4:00pm, and Sunday 11am to 4pm. Tickets can be purchased on site or online.
