Discover what's happening in the South Bay this weekend

Did anyone go out to see the cokers last night? What? You haven’t heard about the cokers landing in Redondo Harbor? The first two made landfall yesterday and took over the streets last night on their way to the El Segundo Chevron Refinery. This will be happening over the next two weeks, so you may want to get informed. Everything you need to know is right here: http://southbaybyjackie.com/coker-transport-schedule-february-20-februar....

LA Craft Beer Tours new South Bay shuttle service runs on the first and third Thursday of each month from 7 to 11:30 p.m. - that’s tonight, Thursday, February 21. The route starts in El Segundo (Rock & Brews, El Segundo Brewing Company) and then heads south to Manhattan Beach (Brewco) Hermosa Beach (Hot’s Kitchen, Abigaile) and Redondo Beach (Select Beer Store) where it turns around for the return trip. The hop-on-hop-off shuttle is free and works on a first come, first served basis. Seating is limited but reserved seats are available for the whole evening at $10 per person. No driving, no parking, no hassles – it’s the only way to discover what’s on tap in the South Bay! For more information and reserved ticket purchase, visit the website at www.lacraftbeertours.com.

Sierra Nevada Brewing Company will be staging a Tap Takeover at Select Beer Store & Tap Room on Thursday, February 21 from 5 to 10 p.m. The Tap Takeover will feature a selection of beers from the popular Northern California brewery. It’s a great opportunity to taste, compare and learn about the different beers they produce. If you have any brew related questions, Sierra Nevada Beer Ambassador, Steve Grossman, will be on hand and happy to explain the various nuances of hops and such. While Sierra Nevada takes over the taps, local favorite, Wyatt’s BBQ, will be on site with an assortment of tasty dishes to complement all the fabulous beer. Dig into tri-tip and hot link sandwiches, baby back ribs, chicken, BBQ baked beans, roasted corn on the cob, Wyatt’s cheesy potatoes and strawberry spinach green salad while enjoying your beer of choice. This event very conveniently takes place the same night as the bi-monthly LA Craft Beer Tour of the South Bay. For more information, visit the website at http://www.selectbeerstore.com or call 310-540-1221. Select Beer Store is located at 1613 South Pacific Coast Highway in Riviera Village in Redondo Beach.
