Discover secrets of wonderful water at Cromwell Valley Park

Water is an important commodity in every society. It brings life and helps sustain life. We even use it to create electricity. Spring and summer brings recreational opportunities with everything from swimming to sailing. Our dependence on this precious resource makes it important to protect our waterways.

Water, Water Everywhere
On Saturday, July 26 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Cromwell Valley Park is offering Water, Water Everywhere, a program suitable for ages 4 to 10, at the Willow Grove Nature Education Center.

The cost is $2.00 for members and $4.00 for non-members. Pre-registration is required as walk-ins are not allowed. Click here for a registration form.

Learn about the science of water through interactive experiments and games. Remember to dress to get wet. According to the Cromwell Valley Park programs, “This program meets the requirements for the Brownies ‘Wonders of Water’ Try-It, the Daisy ‘Clover’ petal, and the Cub Scout ‘Science’ belt-lo[op (patches//belt-loops are not provided)”.

What You Need to Know
Cromwell Valley Park is located on 2175 Cromwell Bridge Road. The Main Visitor Entrance is at Willow Grove Farm (second gate). Click here for directions to the park.

There are many family activities suited to children and their families available at Cromwell Valley Park, many of them are interactive or hands-on. Some activities include hiking, camping, gardening, and crafts.

Adults and seniors can join the fun through seminars, classes, sales, and other events.

The park is open from sunrise to sunset 7 days per week, 365 days of the year. Admission to Cromwell Valley Park is free to the public, although some programs require a registration fee.

Willow Grove Nature Education Center
The Willow Grove Nature Education Center is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. most weekdays, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. It is closed Sundays. Hours are dependent on outdoor programs and available staff, so call ahead to see if they are open.

According to the Cromwell Valley Park, the Willow Grove Nature Education Center “offers plenty of opportunities for visitors to learn about nature, farming, local history, and conservation awareness.”
Also, visit the reptiles, amphibians, and mammals native to Maryland.
