Hello 2013! Here's to hip and new fashions that will look fabulous in your closet, or perhaps you already own them. At the second week mark into the new year there's already tons of trends starting. Per my observations of what stars are wearing on television shows and online fashion lowdowns here are 3 big trends that you'll be seeing more of this year!
Stripes- What might seem like a basic design to some, stripes, specifically black & white ones really are a fashionable look to choice. Whether the stripes are horizontal or in a vertically hip way you can rock this dressy or in your everyday wear. If you're wearing a black & white striped t-shirt either gender can easily throw on their a favorite jeans or for the ladies toss on a skirt that pops like red or keep it simple with black. Whatever your choosing, think a bit more on how you can "upgrade" a simple tee or dress. Accessories are always a huge staple in adding a bit more style to stripes.
Sneakers- For the fashionistas out there who swear off sneakers all together or just don't wear them unless you're at the gym or running errands, sneakers are actually becoming more trendy among the ladies. You don't have to be "sporty" or a sneaker-head to walk around Center City or in your Philly neighborhood. Brands like Keds, Vans, Nike, Adidas, and Jordan have a variety of styles to choose from. From high tops, lace-ups with glitter to standard and casual walking sneakers. There's all sorts of designs and prints that may suit your stylish wardrobe.
Sunglasses- Of course sunglasses are a great accessory to have all year round, but if you're ready to swap out last year's frames for something new try a nice round shaped with black lenses. It's chic, simple and always a classic way to go. Naturally you'll want to wear sunglasses that compliment your face so definitely scope out what works for you. Last year there was a lot of cat-eyed shapes, leopard printed frames, and the ever popular Ray Ban shades. It might be a bit early to know for sure what the big style for sunglasses will be but from what I can tell keeping it simple is probably the most style-friendly route to take. Think Breakfast at Tiffany's, stylish like Holly Golightly.
