Mountain Vista Medical Center is offering a special price for mammograms in October in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
On weekdays through October 2013, women can receive a routine screening mammogram for a cash price of $75. Mammograms can help detect tumors and increase the chances of a successful fight against breast cancer. Early detection can be the key to success in the battle against cancer.
According to the American Cancer Society, nearly one in eight women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime, and roughly 40,000 will die each year from the disease. While the American Cancer Society recommends an annual mammogram for women 40 and older, it is estimated 29 percent of insured women and 68 percent of uninsured women are not receiving an annual mammogram.
Mountain Vista Medical Center is at 1301 S. Crismon Road in Mesa. Call 1-877-924-WELL (9355) for information or to make an appointment for a digital screening mammogram.
