Republicans are looking worse. Mann and Ornstein published a book last year, It’s even worse than it looks. Correctamento.
American voters are continuing to register disapproval of House Republicans who are at war with the poor and Middle Class, many of whom are about to become poor if things go on as they are.
“In the second week of the government shutdown — Tuesday is Day 8 — Republicans have seen disapproval of their handling of the shutdown negotiations spike from 63 percent at the end of last month to 70 percent, according to a Washington Post/ABC News poll released on Monday.”
It is 70:30 against Republican policies. What is it they cannot understand about that?
To stay in office, incumbents must do some things:
1. Demonstrate that they can work through the legislative process to produce incremental improvements in collaboration and in a bipartisan manner.
2. Demonstrate a change in responsibility that is shifting from radical extremism to moderate managers.
3. Demonstrate allegiance to We the People versus whomever they think drums they are marching to.
This isn’t a damned game, Mr. Speaker.
