Thomas E. Bell, from Jacksonville, Fla. trained his dog, Rommy, a miniature German Schnauzer to be his service dog and help him pick up things like spoons and take off his socks.
Bell has lung disease and he also has Cerebral Palsy and cannot walk and trained Rommy, his long-time companion, to help him get by.
"I trained him myself to bring me his leash and sunglasses and hat," Bell told WTLV News, on Friday.
On February 4, the gate was accidentally left open and when Rommy was let outside he went missing. Bell believes that someone probably took his dog because he doesn't believe he would have run off.
Bell calls Rommy, his son and he is heartbroken that he is missing. Rommy is depending on others to help search for Rommy as his wheel chair is broken and he can't search himself.
On Thursday, the word started to spread on Facebook that Tom was looking for his dog and he received so much attention that WTLV news came to his house to interview him.
Tom placed a craigslist ad that reads:
LOST DOG 2/4/13 AROUND 6PM MINIATURE SCHNAUZER GOES BY THE NAME ROMMEL OR ROMMY. HE DID NOT HAVE HIS COLLAR ON BECAUSE HE JUST HAD HIS BATH EARLIER IN THE DAY. PLEASE EMAIL TO THE CL EMAIL OR TEXT OR CALL 904-514-8150 IF YOU SEE HIM OR PICK HIM UP. THIS IS MY UNCLES DOG AND HE IS COMPLETELY DEVASTATED THAT HE IS MISSING. HE IS A VERY NICE DOG HE MAY HE SCARED OF STRANGER'S. LAST SEEN AT THE CAHOON ROAD AND DEVOE ROAD AREA
