Update 7/12/14: According to the Facebook page, Death Row Dogs, Fry is safe - pulled by Anarchy Animal Rescue.
A beautiful, two-year-old dog named "Fry," is among the dogs listed in the "Super Urgent" album for at-risk dogs who are impounded at the New York Animal Care and Control facility in Manhattan.
Fry is disabled, but he does not let that minor detail impact his zest for life. A shelter volunteer wrote the following words about this beautiful pit bull:
Fry is a living example that a physical disability should not be in the way of making friends and enjoying a productive and happy life. A bit of help and a lot of love can make things easier, of course.Ready, willing and able is Fry's moto. He is as cute as a button and charms everybody around with his velvety dark eyes that look quite tenderly into mine. No grumpy moods, no aggression…Fry knows that being a good boy will melt your heart and make you fall in love with him.
The volunteer added:
He loves to nestle his body against or between my legs and enjoy a good head and butt scratch. He kisses my hands so gently with his little tongue. He runs through the yard like a torpedo and does the stairs faster than I can. He has mastered the way he gets around.
Adaptation at its best ! I am so amazed by this little boy, tiny, too thin but so brave and so good looking in his perfect tan coat. Fry can sit on command and wait for treats that he takes eagerly. He has quite a bit of weight to catch up with. He does not seem to be bothered by the presence of other dogs. He eliminates while in the yard.
Fry seems to have been born with a birth defect that makes him drag his both hinds. He is a great trooper with an incredible survival instinct and adaptation capabilities that could give hope to the most hopeless. I am so proud of you, Fry.
Fry needs to find someone who is willing to overlook his physical issues and to see him for the wonderful dog that he is. Please take a moment to network Fry's information - he does not have the luxury of time.
