Last night at Dubox, an excellent show was performed by Amuckone, T.H.C., and Rikka. The show began as the Cavaliers lost in overtime, but the performance was definitely a win. A crowd of about 30 watched as amazing techno and rap was mixed and performed all night. Here is a breakdown of what went down at the show.
The show began with mixing by Amuckone and featured perfect transitions and amazing bass. A huge hit was his remix of "Jerk It Out" by Caesar and the crowd loved it. Amuckone continued to thrill the crowd with amazing dubstep mixes, and then began to DJ for rap duo T.H.C., made up of rappers Codeine and Ether.
Codeine and Ether had amazing lyrics combined with two distinct styles. Codeine was more into traditional hip hop style rapping while Ether used insane speed to add to a brilliant combination. They sang a remix of "Black and Yellow" by Wiz Khalifa that the crowd loved, and moved on to perform great original hits, including "Roller Coaster" and "Haters Get The Middle Finger". They also performed one they wrote on the highway the night before entitled "F***ed Up City Kids", which the crowd also enjoyed. Towards the end of their act they performed a great revamp of "I Love College" by Asher Roth that they entitled "I Love Parties". All in all it was an epic performance.
Following T.H.C., Amuckone and Rikka combined rap and dubstep together to create a phenominal mix. Amuckone spun dubstep while Rikka rapped and kept the crowd into everything. Amuckone made an awesome switch from dubstep to drum and bass, and performed until the end of the show. Everyone was very impressed with the show, and many are excited for the next performance.
The venue was amazing as well. Dubox had great food, great drink prices, and was a very nice atmosphere for a small show. The stage setup was great, and the small sports themed bar was perfect for the show last night. More shows should be hosted there in the future and it's definitely worth checking out.
