
I love catching shadows and angles in photography, and soccer pitches provide both natural and man-made ones just waiting to be captured. You might have seen my on-line photography exhibits last year called "Soccer Still Life" and "Ball Life." Again this time I played with shapes and textures. I went out to Pendergast Park in Bremerton Washington and shot the series of photos below of two sand / dirt pitches. Some goofball had recently spun out on one of them. It sucked for the pitch but does look interesting because of the texture it created in the photos.
Someday Pendergast would like to be some what of a West Sound version of Starfire Sports Complex. If that happens, then the sand / dirt pitches will be replaced with Field Turf ones. That will be much better for players, but perhaps not for photographers...
