Jack the Giant Killer is the new update of the classic story of Jack and the Beanstalk. It's being directed by Bryan Singer, director of X-Men and it's sequel, X2: X-Men United.
Monroe residents can catch 'Jack the Giant Killer' at Cinemark Cinema 10, located in the Pecanland Mall at 4700 Millhaven Rd. in Monroe, or at Cinemark Tinseltown, 220 Blanchard St. in West Monroe.
In the film Jack accidentally re-opens a long closed doorway between the worlds of men and that of giants. Having been gone for centuries, the giants' first order of business is to retake territory they'd long ago conquered as their own. Unfortunately the land they once claimed happens to be inhabited by humans now. And the giants are determined to take it all back, even if it means by force. Jack learns the courage to become a warrior and fights to reclaim what's his from the coming onslaught of the giants.
Jack goes up the beanstalk on June 15.
