Movie fans in Scottsdale have been waiting for the release of the "24" film to theaters. On Tuesday, March 12, NME.com shared the latest comments made by the director assigned to the film, Antoine Fuqua.
The "24" film would have brought Kiefer Sutherland's character Jack Bauer from the small screen to the big screen, but the film has been met with a number of delays since talk of the potential film began in 2010. The biggest delay has been Sutherland's continued television career. He currently stars in "Touch" on Fox, and the series' schedule made it difficult to find time for the "24" film to shoot.
Fuqua has now spoken about the future of the "24" movie during an interview promoting his upcoming film release "Olympus Has Fallen." The project is dead, according to the director. He said the following, according to NME:
"I met with Kiefer, Fox wanted to do it, it was a matter of his schedule before he went off to do his new show. [But] I don't think he was able to get a proper agreement with Fox. The time just passed, and I went off to go to what I was doing."
The future of "Touch" on Fox is uncertain. The network is currently airing season two on Channel 10 in Scottsdale. However, Sutherland has already been offered a new NBC pilot. He has been offered a starring role in "The Black List" for that network, according to Entertainment Weekly.
