Lee previously won a Best Directing Oscar for "Brokeback Mountain." His martial arts epic "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" also earned him Best Director and Best Picture nominations.

With "Life of Pi," Lee creates what's been hailed as a "groundbreaking movie event" about a young man who survives a disaster at sea and is hurtled into an epic journey of adventure and discovery. While cast away, the young man forms an amazing and unexpected connection with another survivor...a fearsome Bengal tiger.
