Dire need for timing in thyroid treatment improves calcium absorption

Patients who are experiencing hypothyroidism are prone to deteriorating calcium levels, and should eat a diet filled with high-calcium rich foods. On the contrary, thyroid medication is shown to decrease the absorption of calcium in the blood, and may lead to an overall higher incidence of osteoporosis. This is due to the eating of milk and cheese, or other calcium rich foods within 6-8 hours of taking medication for thyroid disease. Actual efficacy of this type of medicine in improving the rate of hormone level distribution in the body, is affected by near consumption of calcium following direct intake of a thyroid pill.

Calcium absorption may be dire when facing challenges in maintaining adequate levels of hormones. Healthy individuals show that the actions of three calciotropic hormones on the target organs of bone, gut, and kidney develop a balanced concentration of calcium. Although kidney stones may be prominent in disturbed cycling of animal protein sythesis, the excessive calcium found in urine means an non-regulation of hormones like, calcitonin, insulin, cortisol, growth hormone,(GH), thyroxine, epinephrine, estrogen, testosterone, somatomedin, and inorganic phosphate may be to blame.

It is said that the best way to treat the thyroid and prevent bone-loss is to track the progress of resorption of calcium and effectively time the intake of medication, separate from intake of calcium-rich foods.
