Chicago families looking for a fun, free activity for kids that love to play with dinosaur toys can enjoy two creative displays touring the Chicago area this summer (2009) as part of the Dinosaurs Alive! exhibit at the Brookfield Zoo.
During the typically rainy and cold Chicago spring, animatronic dinosaurs appeared at various indoor venues as part of a Dinosaurs Alive! Mall Tour. Now that the summer weather is starting to settle in, however, these robot prehistoric creatures are unleashed and rampaging across Chicagoland!
Crushed Car Tour Itinerary
What would the after-affects of a dinosaur's passing look like? Visit one of the local Chicago attractions hosting one of the stops along the way of the Crushed Car Tour to find out! Kids will love looking at the line of smashed cars, each marked with a trail of enormous green dinosaur footprints just like the ones found on the ground at Brookfield Zoo.
- From June 1 to June 21, visit OakBrook Center in Oakbrook.
- From June 22 to August 2, visit Toyota Park in Bridgeview.
- From August 3 to September 27, visit Yorktown Center in Lombard.

Dino Tour Itinerary
For even more excitement and a thrilling photo opportunity, take children to see an actual animatronic dinosaur that is making its way around Chicago.
- From June 1 to June 25, view it at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle.
- From June 26 to June 28, view it at the Taste of Chicago.
- From June 29 to August 6, view it at the Morton Arboretum again.
